The Board
Nick Eng (President) - Nick is a sophomore in The College studying Mathematics and Economics. In addition to Communitech, he is actively involved in service activities across campus, and is currently an active member of PennPals and is the Philanthropy Chair of Penn's Sigma Pi Fraternity. He is also trying to start a Weekend Service Council at Penn. In his downtime, Nick enjoys long walks on the beach, soccer, lacrosse, the occasional video game, and arguing with Arjun over random computer-related matters, such as which is the best internet browser. As Co-President Nick hopes to expand Communitech's influence in the local Philadelphia area and broaden the scope of the organization's activities. His browser of choice, by the way, is Opera.
Arjun Gopalratnam (President) - Arjun is a sophomore in the School of Engineering and Applied Science studying Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering. Arjun enjoys a hearty debate on technology or politics and truly believes that it is the duty of the educated (like you!) to help those around them. He has chosen to do his part through CommuniTech while fulfilling two of his hobbies: technology and traveling the world. He also made this website and was surprised that both the XHTML and CSS fully validate! He'd like to leave you with the thought that even if you do not choose to help others through CommuniTech, please don't let apathy guide you away from making a difference. By the way, Arjun is typing this on his Mac in the Camino browser.
Brian Sohn (Treasurer) - Brian is a Junior in The College, studying Economics. He enjoys keeping up with consumer technology trends, and loves reading Wired magazine, Gizmodo, Engadget and Lifehacker (Blogs). Brian was previously a nationally ranked fencer and enjoys playing and watching soccer (Go Barcelona!) He has previously worked for Apple Inc. and is a hardcore mac fan, but is fluent in all operating systems. Brian's goal for Communitech this year is to start a student laptop initiative.
Abhi Hendi (Information Manager) - Abhi is a sophomore in the School of Engineering and Applied Science studying Electrical Engineering. Formerly a Chemical Engineering major, Abhi never planned on being a Chemical Engineer and realized how useless the degree would have been. He hails from the great state of Delaware, known more for its chicken farms than its nightlife. Abhi joined CommuniTech because he felt like making a positive difference in the city of Philadelphia and around the world. What better way to put tech skills to use than helping others learn those same skills? He is a huge fan of playing and watching sports, specifically basketball and football. He considers himself a rap junkie but can listen to any music that does not sound like a bunch of chipmunks playing the drums. Abhi can beat Arjun consistently in the aforementioned Blitz and Midnight Club, so once you get past Arjun, get ready for a real challenge.
Raj Das (Events Coordinator) - Rajarshi Das. The Man. The Myth. The Legend. Strongly adhering to the Indian culture, Raj is a sophomore in Computer Science Engineering. Having been raised in the streets of Camp Hill, PA (recently nominated America's most dangerous city), he has been well conditioned for the rugged life as Communitech's Foreign Events Coordinator. In his free time, he sleeps, listens to music, watches TV, and essentially wastes his life away. Unfortunately, he doesn't get much free time anyway. Finally, as the International Events Coordinator, Raj's goal is to become fluent in that South African clicking language.
