2015 – Bicyclist Blind Spot Detector
- Project Description: Ultrasonic sensors monitor the bicyclist’s blind spots in real time, with that sensor input processed through an Arduino Uno. When the system detects an approaching vehicle in the blind spot, it provides feedback to the bicyclist via corresponding LED lights. This was developed in one weekend for PennApps 2015.
- My Role: I worked on all aspects of this project. I worked on the code to trigger and read data from the ultrasonic sensors on the Arduino Uno. This code was then improved upon by another member of my PennApps group. In addition, I worked on some of the mechanical design for the mounting of the electronics on the bike. I was also responsible for manufacturing all of the hardware components.
