Are you a girl interested in Math, Science, or Engineering?

Would YOU like to spend a day at the University of Pennsylvania, and learn about real world engineering applications?

The Society of Women Engineers at the University of Pennsylvania is happy to invite you to the third annual Penn GEARS (Girls in Engineering and Related Sciences) Day for girls in high school. We are seeking sophomore or junior girls that express an interest in engineering, math, and the sciences who would be enthusiastic about participating in this mini-day camp.

The event will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2015

in the School of Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania at NO COST to the participants. Lunch will be provided.

The selected girls will participate in an exciting day of hands-on engineering lab activities, hear from upper class female engineers, and witness what Penn Engineering is all about. The day will last from 9 am to 4 pm and will consist of a rotation of lab activities among the different engineering disciplines. Professional faculty and graduate students have designed fun and hands-on miniature experiments that will allow you to get an idea of what college engineering entails. Four workshops will be offered throughout the day that touch on different engineering focuses, potentially including biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science engineering, and more. The workshop leaders are very enthusiastic about working with you in these fun engineering activities.

Registration for GEARS Day 2015 is now open! The application can be found here.

Applications are due March 1, 2015 and decisions will be released on March 8, 2015.
